A gentle space for big feelings.
Chloe Kimiai (she/her)
LMHCA, NCC
Hi, I’m Chloe.
I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) with a Master’s in Education in Counseling. I bring over six years of experience as a Mental Health Counselor and advocate, High School Counselor in Seattle, and an Adjunct Faculty Counselor Educator at Seattle University. As a therapist, I specialize in working with teens and young adults. I have years of experience working with People of Color, people who identify as LGBTQIA+, and individuals who have neurodivergence, and center identity in my work. I have specific interest in working with people who have experienced trauma, depression, anxiety, school related issues, are experiencing life transitions, and those who simply feel they could benefit from having a caring and supportive professional to talk to.
As a Queer, mixed, Persian-American woman from an immigrant family, I bring lived experience and cultural humility to my work. I am deeply aware of how power, privilege, and systemic inequities shape mental health and access to care. My practice is rooted in anti-oppressive values, and I strive to create affirming, inclusive spaces where clients feel seen and supported in all their identities. I carry a calming, grounded presence. I am someone who communicates clearly, builds strong relationships, and brings humor, adaptability, and high standards to every setting. I am skilled at collaboration and believe that therapy is a collaborative process where we work together to create goals and create an environment that focuses on client need and desire. If you’re looking for a therapist who brings clinical expertise, cultural insight, and a deep commitment to wellbeing, I’d be honored to connect.
A little about me.
A little about me personally, I grew up in Renton and have spent my whole life in the greater Seattle area. I am a Washington State University Alumni, where I studied Psychology, and then went on to get a Master’s degree at Seattle University in Counseling. I am a dog mom to two spirited and unique dogs, a German Shepard and a Shih Tzu. In my free time, I love to travel and eat delicious foods.
My Approach
Anti-Racist
I provide an anti-racist framework meaning I broach cultural positionality in session, remain aware of microagressions, & am aware of the harmful effects of colonization on the mental health field.
Anti-Oppressive
My Anti-Oppressive framework aims to understand the micro, meso, and macro levels of oppression and identify ways to mitigate power imbalances between myself and my clients as well as the power imbalance between society at large.
Queer Affirming
Queer-affirming means creating a therapeutic space where LGBTQIA+ identities are not just accepted—but celebrated, respected, and understood. It means recognizing the impact of systems like cisheteronormativity, homophobia, and transphobia on mental health, and actively working to counter those forces in the therapy room.
